Director of Advice and Information
Michael joined the Patients Association as Helpline Manager in September 2010 and took on the position of Director of Advice and Information Services at the start of 2012. He previously spent five years as Senior Caseworker for Bill Rammell the former MP for Harlow, and prior to that worked in the Press Office of Hertfordshire County Council.
Michael is responsible for the development of the organisations Helpline, Communication and Campaign Strategy, and oversees the Policy and Research functions of the organisation.
In 2011 Michael was the author of the Patients Association research into cuts in elective surgical procedures in March 2011 and March 2012. He also authored the 2011 report into care in Hospital wards 'We have been listening, have you been learning' which received significant national coverage. As Helpline manager he oversaw the introduction of a new casework service, and in his new role is responsible for delivering a strategy which has introduced a number of new campaigns and public affairs activities.
