Treatment Abroad

Where can I go for advice on treatment abroad?

For information on travelling abroad the Department of Health have a section entitled EHIC and health advice for travellers:

To visit this information please click here

It is important to check very carefully before travelling abroad for treatment. Primary Care Trusts will not reimburse the costs of treatment abroad unless it has been agreed with them beforehand.

You must also ensure your insurance cover includes the cost of medical air ambulance re-patriation in case of any problems with the treatment itself.
