Katherine Murphy
Director of Communications

Katherine joined the Patients Association in 2000 having come from a background in Nursing and Health Service Management.
As Director of Communications, Katherine has been at the forefront of most of our recent campaigns at Patients Association, notably managing the highly successful 2005 Clean Hospital and 2006 Clean Hospitals, Safer Healthcare Summits.
She has also initiated a number of other campaigns that have figured largely in the media including:
Mixed-sex Wards
Patients’ Rights
Access to Services
Dentistry
During her time with the Patients Association Katherine has worked with the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA), Healthcare Commission, Cabinet Office, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Royal College of Nursing and Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Katherine is responsible for all public relations work for the Patients Association as well as setting the strategic direction for the organisation.
